Power Wheels

Ok so now you have seen the picture I will explain. I am on a Relay For Life team. (There is going to be much more about this later...) I seen this on Relay Nation and a friend of mine was doing it to. It has to be the greatest fundraiser of all time.

What you need...

A Power Wheels Car - this could be a car, truck, "hummer", John Deer Tracker (pictures coming soon on that one.) or any power wheels.

Business to sponsor the car - I asked local business plus my husband and I each own our own businesses for $20 a piece. Other people I know asked for $25 or so. I put an "advertisement" (I said it that way because it is like a adv. when you are telling to sell the idea to people.) on Facebook and it took off. I had families donate money and then I had the son of the lady that we are Relaying for give us money and he said he wanted it in Memory of Mary Lara. <great idea by the way!!

Decals of the names of the companies that donated - Now I have a good friend (I have met during this Relay season. She also Relay's in a different county.) who help with this part. But if you ask a business to donate the stickers then they don't have to donate the money for it. See win win!!

Tickets - I just had them write their name and number on the back of a ticket. They would always ask "Why?" I would say "So I can call you when you win." They would laugh.

Now you need a good spill... - Here is what I said.."Oh you need that for your kids. It's a great Christmas Gift to have ready to go under the tree." "Oh you don't have kids or grand kids or nieces or nephews, well you could just donate it to the Child's Hospital in Oklahoma City. That is where my cousin was when he was getting his treatment for cancer. He was only 4 years old." By now they have bought 3 to 5 tickets.

The last thing you need is a drawing day... I have had some people say they want to be there but I tell them they don't have to be. I am going to draw it at my business and then call the person with lots of YAHOO's in the background.

This is super easy and super fun. I now have a John Deer Tracker that I will be raffling off at the first of the year all the way until the night of our "AWESOME" relay. (will explain the AWESOME part next time.) Picture will be coming of the John Deer in the weeks to come. One business donated all the money for this one. That is another way to do it...

Til next time,

"In God We Trust"

"In God We Trust"
by: Sarah Lau

Once there was a little old man with hair white as snow. He had a cane with the words ‘In God We Trust’ engraved on the side of it. Everyday he would go to the park to feed the birds. He would take a half a loaf of bread that he would pick up from the bakery that was down stairs from where he lived. When he got to the park he would sit on the same bench and probably fed the same birds everyday. Well this day that I am telling you about was like any other day until the old man looked up from feeding the birds. There across the walk was a beautiful little old women. Her hair was curled and pinned up into a nice little bun. Not one hair was out of place. She was wearing a pretty blue silk top with a bow around her neck. She had a walker in front of her and her head was down. Without a thought in his mind, the little old man got up and wobbled over to the little old women. He asked
“May I set next to you?”
She relied,
     “Say that again Sr.”
He said,
“May I set next to you?’ with a little louder voice.
She said,
     “Yes you may.”
He gave a little wobble and set down next to the woman. She looked up and gave him a little smile then looked back down. He said with in the same loud voice,
“My name is Wilbert. What is yours?”
     “Laura.” she said.
She didn’t look up and didn’t say anymore. So he finally asked if she wanted some bread to feed the birds.
“It is very relaxing to see them fly in and eat what you give them.” he added.
“No thank you. I can’t see very well. So I wouldn’t be able to see them eat it.” She replied.
“Ok would you like to talk about the weather. I heard it is going to be up in the seventy tomorrow.” He said trying to get her out of her sad mood.
“What did you say? I can’t hear very well anymore.” She said.
He thought about it and then he put his hand on her knee and bowed his head.
“Dear Heavenly Farther, I am calling on you this day to help this dear young women. I do not know her problems, her worries, or her. But I do know that even though you are up there you do know her. Please God help with her days to come in this life and if it is only today let her feet be swift and her heart light. There will come a time when she will see your face and know that she is safe. God if you only answer one of my prays today, please make it be this one dear Lord. Thank you for your mercy on me today and everyday. Amen.”
As he told his hand off her knee she grab it and held it tight with a pause. She then said,
“Wilbert, I have sat here all morning praying that I could see the people as they passed me, hear the birds sing there morning songs, and have no pain in my body. When you touched my knee I was going to tell you get lost, but I felt something deep down inside me and I didn’t know what it was. Then you started to pray,” she paused again as to think of a time long, long ago when the world was right, “I could feel from the bottom of my feet the pain start to go away. Then it got to my eyes and I could see your hand right there on my knee. Every line and every bump. When it got to my ears and I could hear every word that was coming out of your mouth.” She paused and with a gasp of air she said “Thank you Lord for this man that has done your work today. I can feel and hear this wonderful man with his wonderful words to you God. Thank you Lord. You have shown me that you are still here with me and you can still hear me. THANK YOU LORD. AMEN!”
Wilbert got up and turned to the old women. Looking at her he said thank you and walked off.

I don't know how to write with commas and all, but I love to write short stories. This is just one that came to my mind today and had to put it on here. Please let me know if you like it or not.

A Look Into I Housewife's Life

So today I was home from work again because of the wonderful snow that we have got. This was the first time in a long time that I have really been a house wife. I cleaned house and did ALL the laundry. It was wonderful.

I have worked every since we got married and I love to work, but I have never been a house wife. I thought I would just love it to death but the more I am at home the more I can't wait to go back to work. Now you are thinking I am crazy, and I am, but there is just so much I can't do in one day. I have cleaned everything without going into the big stuff, done laundry that I think was already clean and scanned Pinterest so many times that I think I have seen EVERYTHING!!

When we got married my loving husband asked me if I wanted to stay home and not work but I had a car payment so I had to work til it was paid off. Then I got another car so I had to work some more. So I work. I love my job but there are days that I wish I could just stay home. I love getting out and doing something everyday. There is going to be a day when we have kids and I am going to want to stay home with the kiddos but until that day I will work. I love my days off but I love to work too.
